Book Your Private Jet Charter: Valencia Airport

Valencia Airport is located about eight kilometres outside the city, which is quick and easy to get to. Two runways are available for aircraft to land and take off. Private jet passengers also benefit from the range of premium services available at Valencia Airport.

Valencia Airport: Aviation History

According to the original plans, Valencia Airport should have been built on a piece of land separating Lake La Albufera from the Mediterranean Sea. This was in order to provide access for seaplanes as well as regular aircraft. Due to various obstacles, the authorities decided to construct the airport near the town of Manises instead. It was officially opened in 1933 and the first scheduled flight took place the following year departing for Madrid.

Since its opening, Valencia (VLC) Airport has been expanded several times. For instance, the passenger terminal built in the mid-1960s was replaced by a new terminal building in 1983. In 2007, another terminal for regional flights was added to the west end of the main terminal. Valencia Airport was expanded to include a building for private jet traffic and new parking facilities. A further expansion on the east side of the main terminal was inaugurated in 2012. Additional check-in desks and a new luggage hall made passenger check-in more efficient.
